About Silk Road Tours

This site is an independent guide to Silk Road tours in Uzbekistan and a comparison of the tours you can book: multi-day tours of Uzbekistan, one-day trips from Tashkent to Samarkand, guided walks in Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, and desert, fortress and lake days, plus a Seven Lakes day across the border in Tajikistan. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours. The full line-up sits in the Silk Road tours catalog.

Why It Exists

Tour listings print a price, but not always what it covers. One multi-day tour includes the high-speed train between the cities, another drives, and monument tickets are inside some prices and extra on others. A cheaper tour that leaves them out sends you back to pay on the day.

So every tour here is shown with what its price covers: the train, the monument tickets, the transport, the guide, lunch and the time you get in each city.

Where the Figures Come From

Tour prices, ratings, review counts, itineraries and inclusions come from the listing on the platform that sells each tour. Ticket prices, opening hours and visiting rules come from the official bodies: Uzbekistan Railways for trains, the national e-visa portal and the foreign ministries of the US and UK for entry rules, and UNESCO for the World Heritage cities.

When two sources disagree, the page gives the official one or leaves the figure out.

What You Will Not Find

There is no invented guide or local expert behind these pages, and no claim that anyone from the site joined a tour. Reviews shown are short excerpts from four and five star platform reviews. Fees are not printed where no official source gives them.

How the Site Is Paid For

The booking buttons are affiliate links to GetYourGuide and Viator. If you book through one, the platform pays a commission and your price does not change. No operator pays for a place, a badge or the pick.

The details are on the affiliate disclosure page.
